This saw was made to cut wood, and it was made to cut 2-inch wood nominal lumber materials. The RK437 Compact Circular Saw can basically eliminate the requirement for a full-size 7-1/4-inch circular saw for the average DIYer or professional.
This saw is lightweight, weighing only 5 pounds, making it simple to travel and maneuver (especially overhead). The compact, inline grip design offers excellent comfort, balance, and control thanks to its ergonomic shape. In a single pass, the 4" blade can cut through two 2 X 4s, yet it is approximately 50% lighter than standard 7" circular saws.
Additionally, the left-sided blade shape of the lightweight saw gives exceptional cut-line visibility. The 4-1/2" blade on the saw has a kerf that is less than half the thickness of circular saw blades that are 7-1/4" in diameter. Because the smaller, thinner blade requires far less effort and motor strain to cut through the material, the 6.5 Amp - 4200 rpm circular saw can match the performance of full-size circular saws on a consistent basis. The maximum cutting depth of the saw at 90 degrees is 1-11/16" and the maximum bevel capacity at 45 degrees is 1-1/8". In addition, the saw has a dust extraction port and a 1-1/4-inch blade vacuum adaptor for dust collecting and maintaining a clean working environment
